The inferior border of the lungs forms the most inferior margin of the costal or mediastinal lung surfaces. It is the junction of these surfaces with the diaphragmatic surface of the lung.

The inferior border of the lung forms an acute angle that comes to lie in the complimentary acute angle of the costodiaphramatic recess during inspiration.
