Congenital hypertrophy of the retinal pigment epithelium (CHRPE) is a common fundoscopic finding in familial polyposis coli.

A recent study found the prevelance of CHPRE in patients with FAP 63.5% but only 1.2% in patients' unaffected relatives (p=0.001).
