Foville syndrome

Foville syndrome results from occlusion of the perforating branches of the basilar artery in the region of the pons.

Clinically, the features are:

  • unilateral facial palsy
  • paralysis of conjugate gaze towards the affected side
  • contralateral hemiplegia
