Bisoprolol fumarate

Bisoprolol fumarate is a cardioselective B-blocker which appears to have no effect on cholesterol levels. It is minimally more expensive than atenolol.

Indications:

  • hypertension
  • angina

Dose:

  • usually, 10 mg od
  • the maximum recommended dose is 20 mg/day
  • in some patients 5 mg/day may be sufficient
