Cylindromas are:

  • benign tumours which are derived from sweat glands or hair follicles
  • particularly common on the scalp where they may be multiple (turban tumour)
  • occasionally familial with autosomal dominant inheritance

Management includes excision biopsy of the skin lump with subsequent histology.
