Levator anguli oris is a dilator muscle of the lips. It originates from the canine fossa inferior to the infraorbital margin on the maxilla.

It passes inferiorly and from deep to superficial to insert into the lateral edge of the upper lip and into the modiolus. Some fibres pass through the modiolus to blend with the fibres of depressor anguli oris.

It is innervated by the buccal branch of the facial nerve (VII).

The action of levator anguli oris is to elevate the angle of the mouth.
